The Recycle for Cornwall campaign has been developed to raise public awareness of recycling and to provide consumers with a compelling reason to recycle.
Recycool is a fantastic fundraising programme for schools which allows them to make money and help the environment at the same time.
By recycling mobile phones, PDAs and used printer cartridges schools can raise vital funds to spend any way they please – the more items you collect the more cash your school makes!
Recycool was developed in conjunction with senior head teachers and ties into aspects of the curriculum including enterprise, citizenship and ICT. Complete lesson plans, teaching resources and marketing support materials mean the programme is easy to implement and run.
Pupils set up their own mini-company with roles in areas such as Sales & Marketing, Finance and Stock Control; developing core skills and improving team work. Schools are also encouraged to get businesses in the surrounding area involved in collecting for them, helping build links with the local business community as well as raising even more funds.
Participating in Recycool means your school can have a very positive impact on the environment. Mobile phones, PDAs and printer cartridges contain many toxic substances which, if they are thrown in the bin and end up in landfill, taking many years to biodegrade – a single cartridge can take up to 1000 years to decompose – resulting a serious long term environmental problem.
So if you want to raise cash for your school and help the environment – get Recycooling!
