Introduction: Look at the different types of waste to explore changes in bin composition over time.
Main Activity: Examine the different types of packaging used in a household kitchen in the 1930's compared with 2006. What makes up most of the waste? Compare bin from 1930's with today’s waste bin. Discuss packaging, refillable bottles etc. What do we throw away more of? What do we throw away less of? What is totally new? What impact does our use of packaging have on today’s environment?
