  School Bin
It's not just at home or at work that we can recycle our waste there is lots we can do at school to help reduce what we throw away.

What's in a school bin?

There are six main waste streams created in school and there are ways that all of these can be reduced or recycled, below are some ideas on how you can reduce, reuse or recycle these materials…

Paper - 26%
Food 19%
Cardboard 15%
Plastic  14%
Cans 7%
Foil 1%
Glass 1%
Other 17%

Reduce

  • Print on both sides of the paper
  • E-mail newsletters to parents and post information on your school's website
  • Promote waste free lunches, packaged in reusable containers

Reuse

  • Hold a car boot sale or toy swap and raise money for your school
  • Join the Cornwall Scrapstore > for arts and craft materials
  • Use reclaimed wood for woodwork projects

Recycle

Cornish School groups can see firsthand what happens to all the stuff we put in our recycling banks, bags or boxes by visiting the Recycling centre in Bodmin.
