The Recycle for Cornwall campaign has been developed to raise public awareness of recycling and to provide consumers with a compelling reason to recycle.
Cornwall attracts 5 million visitors each year and during the summer months many Cornish residents also take to exploring their county either on holiday or through day trips. Recycle for Cornwall would like to encourage you to continue recycling when you are out and about and has some great ideas on how you can reduce, reuse and recycle this summer.
Small things make a big difference

Reusable picnic sets
Pack a traditional picnic using a set that can be used again and again. You will save money in the long run and your picnic will feel much more special. Try to avoid plastic packaging when buying food for your picnic, choose packaging that can be recycled instead.
Fuel your barbeque this summer with locally produced, environmentally friendly charcoal and help support Cornwall Wildlife Trust at the same time! Cornwall Wildlife trust produce charcoal using traditional methods from surplus wood produced by active conservation management of Devichoys Wood Nature Reserve. All profits raised go back in to conservation work carried out in Cornwall.
It is fantastic to be able to barbeque wherever you go in Cornwall but spending money on cheap disposable barbeques soon mounts up, creates more waste going to landfill and causes problems with littering on beaches. Why not buy a reusable portable barbeque that you can use each time you are out and about?
Invest in a reusable drinks bottles and save money on buying drinks when out on day trips. You will also be reducing the amount of waste you produce whilst enjoying yourself in Cornwall.

Tips
Avoid buying biscuit mini-packs or individually-wrapped items - these use unnecessary packaging and are usually more expensive.
"Recycling is hugely important, and if it's given enough support it will have a huge impact. This campaign gives Cornwall a chance to make a real difference."
