The Recycle for Cornwall campaign has been developed to raise public awareness of recycling and to provide consumers with a compelling reason to recycle.
As the evenings draw out and the weather gets a little warmer, many of us start to get outside more. Recycle for Cornwall has some great ideas for you on how to reduce, reuse and recycle in Cornwall this spring.
Small things make a big difference
Have you seen the Recycle for Cornwall leaflet? For further information on our suggestions please see the links below:
Storage Solutions
For many of us simply storing our recycling for collection or until we next take a trip to the recycling centre can be something of a problem...but it needn't be. There are loads of great storage solutions offered from the following companies: Home Recycling Ltd Phone: 08456 123 191
If you home compost and would like products to make this easier download our accessories leaflet.
Bottle Crushers
One way to reduce the amount of storage space you need in the first place is to ensure that you crush your bottles, it also increases the efficiency of collections. You can obtain crushers from the following companies and soon you will be enjoying the satisfaction of crushing those bottles and cans!
By buying recycled toilet paper you are not only supporting the market for recycled goods and helping your environment but also (according to a recent study by British Gas) reducing the chance of having bathroom blockages. A 10% rise in blockages has partly been blamed on the use of luxury toilet paper which can take up to half an hour to break down. So why not save yourself the hassle and buy recycled!
Recycled toilet paper can be bought from most supermarkets across the county. If you can't buy locally why not ask your local shop if they can get some recycled paper in stock.

Reusable Bags
The number of plastic bags we use in Cornwall each year is staggering. If you can reuse them time and time again, great; but have you every thought about using a stronger, longer lasting bag?
Remember to take bags with you when you go to the shop instead of asking for more. Lots of people even use cardboard boxes in their shopping trollies!
If you own a business and give away bags why not make a statement and invest in some reusable bags, you will enjoy prolonged advertising as well as giving something back to the Cornish environment.
