As the evenings draw out and the weather gets a little warmer, many of us start to get outside more. Recycle for Cornwall has some great ideas for you on how to reduce, reuse and recycle in Cornwall this spring.

Small things make a big difference
Have you seen the Recycle for Cornwall leaflet? For further information on our suggestions please see the links below:

Playground Surfaces

Did you know that you can buy children's play surfaces that are made up from recycled tyres!

Why not call Re-Tyre and find out more: 01209 711311

Scrapstore Membership

If you work with children, membership to a Scrapstore could save you a whole heap of cash. There is an amazing wealth of arts and crafts materials free of charge to members. The scrapstore is a fantastic place to really get stuck into reuse and it won't cost the earth!

For further information on your nearest Scrapstore: Phone 01726 821161

Top Tip: Use a lunch box and cut down on your food packaging

Why not reuse old ice cream tubs for lunch boxes and pack your sandwiches in tin foil (which can be reused and then recycled) instead of using cling film. Avoid individually wrapped treats, instead try buying larger, less packaged goods that you can portion yourself; these often cost far less than their individually wrapped counterparts. Pack a piece of healthy fruit which needs no packaging at all and take any skins or cores home to compost.

  Tips

Save waste at work - use a mug or glass for your drinks instead of disposable cups, and encourage your colleagues to do the same.
