  • At BRITA they take their responsibility to environmental issues very seriously and in line with growing consumer demand for greener living, BRITA has launched a new in store recycling scheme. Recycling bins are now situated in a range of high street stores such as Robert Dyas, Argos and Cargo. Other major retailer collection points will be following soon. The BRITA branded bins will be located next to the existing water filter category in store. Customers can recycle any BRITA consumer product filter cartridge, including those for the new BRITA water filter taps. For further information regarding this scheme please contact the BRITACare department on 0844 742 4800 or log onto our website at www.brita.co.uk/recycle.
  • Telephone directory recycling services operate in some area. For more details about
    recycling Yellow Pages go to

  • Clothing- 7.5 billion articles of clothing are thrown away each year. Half can be recycled. Any item of clothing or footwear in good condition is like gold dust to the vast network of charity shops in the UK. They rely on good quality donations to keep them going, and to help them generate much-needed cash for their chosen charities. Not only will you be making more space at home – you’ll also be helping out a worthy cause.
A list of charity shops in your area can be found at
    www.charityshops.org.uk
  • Charity clothing banks - usually found next to bottle banks at the local supermarket - are an ideal place to deposit your marked or damaged clothing. These items can be used for furniture padding, or can be rewoven into new fabric for making brand new clothes.
